Daniel Stich - CPA Mr. Stich is a shareholder with Kemp & Stich, P.C. Formerly associated with Peat Marwick Main & Co., he has over seventeen years of audit experience. Mr. Stich has performed accounting, auditing and consulting services for a broad range of clients in the public and private sectors. The following presents a selection of his professional experience.
• Conducted over 60 economy and efficiency audits of numerous USAF NAF bowling centers, recreation centers and membership activities.
• Managed and performed economy and efficiency audits of fourteen (14) Nonappropriated Fund Accounting Offices on USAF bases. These audits identified improvements in financial information flow, internal controls, expenditures, and profitability. Extrapolated savings from the recommendations exceeded $3,000,000.
• Conducted economy and efficiency audits of a Department of Energy operation. These audits were performed by Mr. Stich and Mr. Hairston in accordance with the “yellow” book, DOE auditing standards and AICPA standards.
• Performed an allowable cost audit of a Department of Energy operation. This audit was conducted in accordance with the “yellow” book, DOE auditing standards and AICPA standards. The allowable cost standards for this audit are the same as those included in OMB circulars A-87, A-128 and A-133.
• Served as engagement manager and consultant on clients in the banking, retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing, warehousing and coldstorage, construction, agriculture, and oil and gas industries. Select clientele included:
- James Avery Craftsman, Inc. – a large jewelry manufacturer and retailer,
- Sage Energy Co. – a large Oil and Gas exploration firm,
- Texas Bank – a medium size national bank,
- Fairmount Hotel – an exclusive San Antonio Hotel,
- Ponder Industries, Inc. – an Oil and Gas Servicing Company,
- U.S. Modern Pentathlon Association – a non-profit corporation, and
- Loop Cold Storage Co.– a warehouse and cold storage facility.
• Evaluated the internal control system and efficiency of controllership operation for a financial institution with five hundred million dollars in assets.
• Assisted a not-for-profit client in establishing annual budget.
• Assisted a construction-related client in the design of a record keeping system for construction in progress.
• Analyzed the accounting information flow of a multi-unit Company.
Mr. Stich is a member of the:
• American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
• Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and
• San Antonio Chapter of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Stich earned a BS in Business Administration (with a concentration in accounting) from Trinity University.
